Emarie is a kindergartner!

How time flies! This morning I stood on the sidewalk crying while my baby girl got on that giant school bus to kindergarten! She was so excited! Didn't blink an eye! I know she will do great at Summit Road Elementary. It is a beautiful new school and her teacher is wonderful!

Summer Time Fun!

I love being home with the kids. We've been keeping busy! Lots to do! Camping, gardening, library, zoo, the lake, bands, and lots of fun at home!

We just got home from five days in Hide Away Hills! We had a blast. Lots of swimming and boating. Here are some pictures of all of the fun we've been having.

The return of Sammy the MOTH!!

We've been studying insects at school this week. So, the 'word on the street' has been metamorphosis. So, it is only fitting that now was the time that Sammy decided to make his butterfly debut. I couldn't believe it when I came home from work yesterday and saw this!!

We decided to let him out last night so he could stretch his wings and dry out properly. He quickly crawled up into a tree and found a perch. I checked on him this morning and he was still there. He is beautiful!! He was in the chrysalis for 10 months!! We kept him in the garage in the winter and then inside in the window when spring arrived. He is a Robin Moth, the largest moth in North America! Check my blog post from August of 2010 to see him in caterpillar form and building his chrysalis.

Nashville, Y'all!

We just returned from a great trip to Nashville. Braden had a conference to attend there and the rest of us tagged along. We were lucky to also bring Nana (my mom), 'Jones' (my grandma) and Aunt Cindy (mom's sis). We stayed right downtown in walking distance to a lot of the fun. We watched live musicians, line danced, shopped, took a trolley ride and of course went to the Grande Ole Opry! We got to see Lorrie Morgan, Pam Tillis, and Carrie Underwood among other amazing artists. Nashville is a beautiful and fun city. I told mom she's lucky I didn't go to college there. I probably wouldn't have came home. :)

Here are some photo highlights of the trip!

Patient Pose

I worked our school carnival Friday night. I was painting faces, an extremely busy station. Mom brought Preston and Emarie, they patiently waited their turns and then....as I'm painting her face the photographer takes the picture! It isn't my best work as I kind of rushed through my children's faces to hurry to get to the other, actual students at the school. :) But, so cute!
